The Education Commission of St. Nicholas School established a goal at the beginning of School Year 2016-17 to increase enrollment. That year, we began to accept Indiana Choice Scholarship Vouchers in an effort to support non-parishioner families who cannot afford the tuition cost. Now most families, whether parishioers or not, can qualify for the Choice Scholarship, which covers all of their school tuition and book costs.
Bringing in new families is our evangelization effort to welcome all to be a part of our forefathers' dream to have a thriving Catholic School. The new Choice Scholarship laws that passed in June, 2023, will now allow most students to attend St. Nicholas School for free.  The scholarship uses tax money that you already pay to the public school and redirects it to the school of your choice.  Choice Scholarship covers all books, fees, and tuition.  The only requirements are that your student be an Indiana resident and be 5 by September 1, 2023.  There are no longer any pathways necessary.  The income limits (adjusted gross income on 2022 tax return) are as follows ( and will be even higher for the 2023-24 school year):
